It has been a roller coast ride so far… this winter.
Frigid cold weather brought on by the polar vortex as it descended South bringing abnormally cold weather down South. Negative wind chills in DC, who knew? Winter, the last three years were so mild, I almost believed the people who told me it snowed every 5-6 years out here in the Mid-Atlantic.
Come to think of it, it has been a roller coaster ride every year. Each year has produced new meteorological terms: Derecho? Snowmagedon? Snowcation?
After living for years in California, the Earthquake capital, I even experienced my first 6.0, where else but in the Mid-Atlantic! Believe it or not, I was out flying, when the only time a 6.0 hit California when I lived there.
This winter has been weird: pleasant days of 50s followed by unusually cold days dipping below zero. I haven’t experienced sub zero temperatures in a long time. I thought I would never need to… And I was wrong.
Stay warm people… Wonder what the Ground Hog predicts this year?
