Prague Astronomical Clock

605 years and counting…

Just realized that Prague’s Astronomical clock is 605 years old today… Last month, I had the pleasure of seeing it in person and watching it in action.

At the top of each hour, tourists throng around the historic old town square to watch the astronomical clock, as the two windows open and the 12 apostles, march across nodding at the viewers. The clock is elaborately ornate with many carvings and two dials: astronomical and calendar clock.

605? how quickly they grow. 🙂 It is a beautiful. I saw it a handful of years ago but it was a wet, dark and gloomy day.Glad it’s still ticking.
